Blog #5: Chapter 5 BBG

This chapter was a very helpful read for Project 2 and how to do proper and effective research. Since our Project 2 is a research paper it a very appropriate and went over essential topics like preliminary research, brainstorming, and free writing. Free writing is a form of brainstorming that allows you to write about whats on your mind for about half an hour for the sole purpose of finding something to write about that you otherwise might not have thought of. It also takes off the pressure of writing gold immediately like in “Shitty First Drafts” in the sense that no one else but you will be reading what you write so there is no feelings of stress that it isn’t good enough. Preliminary Research is another great thing the chapter spoke about that allows you to get an idea for things you may want to write about to make sure you are actually interested in the topic and want to write about it.
