Plagiarism is defined as the use of another person’s work especially in the same words they used without acknowledging their initial contributions. This applies to blindly copying articles someone else wrote for a project and is a major problem if not reprimanded because it leads people to take credit for other works and claim them as their own. This is why correct citations and a bibliography is necessary to ensure the proper acknowledgement of their research that you utilized in a paper. It is very appropriate to be punished for committing plagiarism because it is unfair to the original writer if you get credit for using their work without any form of recognition.
